About the Role

The Circulate Initiative seeks a proactive Program Associate for the Responsible Sourcing Initiative (RSI) in Latin America. The role involves executing projects and coordinating the development of the Responsible Sourcing Network Latin America. Requirements include strategic thinking, project management skills, and expertise in capacity building in the informal sector or recycling supply chains. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, culturally sensitive, and committed to circular economy, social and environmental justice principles.

This is a full-time contractor role, reporting to the RSI Latin America Lead. The candidate will have the opportunity to work with colleagues and partners across regions.

Key Responsibilities

Project Implementation and Coordination in Brazil, Colombia and other countries

• Support end-to-end project implementation in Brazil and Colombia, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and donor requirements.
• Create comprehensive work plans, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies to ensure the seamless execution of various concurrent projects.
• Oversee program schedules, key outputs, and financial resources; ensure the proactive identification and resolution of potential risks to project success.
• Collaborate with partners to execute program activities, including roundtables and site visits.

Stakeholder Engagement and Management

• Facilitate workshops and networking events to provide capacity-building support and promote best practices.
• Develop materials for external representation at conferences, forums, and stakeholder meetings.
• Conduct partner due diligence exercises.
• Coordinate the end-to-end training calendar, managing trainer recruitment, participant registration, logistics, and post-training evaluations.
• Support the development and expansion of Latin America Network dedicated to responsible sourcing of recycled materials and circular economy initiatives.
• Identify, map, and engage with potential network members, including social enterprises, recyclers, industry associations, NGOs, and government agencies.

Monitoring & Evaluation

• Utilize MEL frameworks and indicators to track program outputs and outcomes, ensuring robust data collection and reporting.
• Support the RSI Impact Lead to gather and synthesize quantitative and qualitative data from diverse partners, training participants, and network stakeholders.
• Contribute to the development of quarterly and donor reports, providing evidence-based narratives and clear data visualizations.
• Capture and document lessons learned, success stories, and case studies to highlight the impact of the program interventions.

Knowledge Management

• Maintain a centralized repository for project documentation, training materials, partner due diligence records, and event outputs.
• Develop briefs, infographics, or blog posts to share insights with internal and external stakeholders.
• Facilitate internal learning sessions to discuss circular economy trends across the Latin American context.

Key Competencies

• 5+ years of relevant professional experience in program or project management, ideally in social impact or circular economy.
• Preferred: Familiarity with human rights due diligence, waste management and plastic recycling landscape or circular economy policy frameworks (such as extended producer responsibility).
• Proven ability to coordinate multi-stakeholder programs.
• Demonstrated experience working with informal sector actors, government agencies, or international development partners.
• Tenacious attention to detail, with excellent organizational, time management and multitasking skills.
• Values intellectual rigor and transparency; willing to ask for help or admit what one does not know.
• Must be self-directed and able to work independently.
• Must be fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish

Education

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years post-college experience within relevant fields of social impact or circular economy or related sectors. Nonprofit program and project management experience is preferred.

Location

Remote position (contractor role for 1-year) for candidates based in São Paulo/Bogota. Candidates must be authorized to work in Brazil/Colombia.
