Building Inclusive Recycling Supply Chains in Practice: Learnings from the Responsible Sourcing Initiative in Indonesia

The second in a series of webinars featuring learnings and best practices from the Responsible Sourcing Initiative implementation projects on the ground, this session spotlighted Indonesia.

Anna Dear (The Coca-Cola Company), Ardhina Zaiza (Mahija Foundation), Emmeline Hambali (Amandina Bumi Nusantara), and Endang Mintarja (Swara Peduli Indonesia Jakarta Foundation) discussed Indonesia’s informal sector and waste management landscape, as well as the learnings and challenges of implementing responsible sourcing. Discussions also highlighted context-specific solutions from the implementation of the Harmonized Responsible Sourcing Framework for Recycled Materials – such as ID cards and the formation of informal groups – and emphasized the role of value chain collaboration in sustaining responsible sourcing efforts.
