Alex manages the Africa portfolio of the Responsible Sourcing Initiative, a multi-year program addressing human rights challenges in recycling value chains and advancing responsibly sourced recycled materials.

Alex brings 13 years of experience across circular economy policy, plastics governance, informal waste sector programming, and development communication in East Africa. He specializes in Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulation, multi-stakeholder convening, and the design and delivery of high-impact projects.

Previously, Alex served as Programme Coordinator for Green Economy and Policy at WWF-Kenya, where he was the organization’s Plastics Policy Focal Point and led its Circular Economy Initiative, as well as its Climate Change and Energy work. He contributed to Kenya’s EPR Regulations, supported the Kenya Plastics Pact, and consulted for Systemiq on Kenya’s National Plastics Action Partnership under the Global Plastic Action Partnership, as well as for Sustainet Group, various United Nations agencies, and national circular economy platforms.

Alex holds a Master’s degree in Development Communication and is currently pursuing a PhD at the Centre for Advanced Studies in Environmental Law and Policy (CASELAP), University of Nairobi, focusing on the political economy of EPR fee structures in Kenya’s plastic value chain.
