In the lead up to the Second Session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee to develop an international legally binding instrument on plastic pollution, this event, hosted by The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), contributed to the discussions on the means of implementation, financing and trade.
Research Director, Umesh Madhavan led the discussion on “Mobilizing resources to end plastic pollution: the costs and financing”, taking a deep dive into the current investment landscape in plastics circularity and the need for a conducive policy environment to mobilize more capital.
