This brief provides comparative data from 2011-12 and 2017-18 for informal workers in all India, where the percentage of informal employment is significantly high in the country. The data presented here are from the 2017-18 Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) and the 2011-12 Employment and Unemployment Survey, both collected by the National Sample Survey Organization (NSSO) of India. The informal employment data are analysed by sex, age, type of work, status in education and level of education.
