This article presents a brief overview of the current waste management situation in Cambodia. The country is facing numerous challenges related to waste management, including inadequate infrastructure, insufficient funding, and limited public awareness of the importance of proper waste disposal. One of the major obstacles to improving waste management in Cambodia is the lack of funding. The government has limited resources to invest in waste management infrastructure, and private sector investment is also limited due to the low potential for profitability. Another challenge is the limited public awareness and participation in waste management practices. Many Cambodians do not understand the importance of proper waste disposal, and there is a lack of education and outreach programs to address this issue. Despite these challenges, there are some initiatives underway to improve waste management in Cambodia. These include efforts to increase public awareness and participation in waste management practices, as well as the development of more advanced waste treatment technologies.
