This report provides a global quantitative assessment of primary microplastic leakage into the ocean. The goal of the report is to help prioritize interventions and inform stakeholder decision-making. Seven major sources of primary microplastics are analyzed: tires, synthetic textiles, marine oatings, road markings, personal care products, plastic pellets and cities.
