This resource is based on an evaluation of 33 different solutions to the plastic waste crisis. This analysis results in an approximate ocean-plastic-mitigation cost curve. This cost curve measures solutions in terms of estimated cost (dollars per metric ton of leakage avoided) and potential impact (metric ton of leakage avoided). The ease of implementation is also evaluated. The resource also includes sections on the origins of ocean plastic and how it reaches the ocean, implications of regional differences in leakage, along with the cornerstones of a concerted program for global action on this issue.
