This resource provides a guide to current policies around plastic waste. Findings from this analysis include that over 60 countries have introduced bans and levies on plastic packaging and single-use waste. Results demonstrate that no policies or regulations exist that directly target the primary production of plastics. Additionally, policies paired with shifting social norms around the disposal of plastics have significantly impacted global waste management systems and secondary recycling markets.
