This resource examines how cooperation can help stakeholders to better direct and maximize impact in the face of the scale of the ocean plastic pollution crisis. This cooperation requires a common narrative, a transparent set of goals and targets, and a way of keeping track of collective success. Given these goals, the resource team reviewed over 200 major efforts targeting plastic pollution, categorized by initiative type, value chain coverage, and strategy. This analysis provides a baseline and concludes that there is no overarching sense of a true movement where individual efforts add up to more than just the sum of the parts.
