The report explains how managing plastic reduces risks to companies and presents business opportunities (e.g. regulation, reputation, material costs, financing). The report analyzes 16 consumer goods sectors using life cycle analysis techniques to calculate plastic use intensity, natural capital costs along with natural capital intensity which represents the revenue at risk if the impacts of plastic mismanagement had to be internalized by companies. The report also highlights the lack of plastic disclosure by companies and tangible actions for companies to reduce their impact.
