This resource highlights the global development of waste picker cooperatives / social and solidarity economy organizations (SSEOs). The resource provides examples focused on how these organizations are addressing the challenges facing waste pickers in the areas of policy, training, community awareness, role formalization, and access to social services/protection. The resource also covers the main challenges facing these support organizations including economic, political and internal barriers to success.
