This research brief proposes combining two policy interventions to create pathways to decent work: income support and active labour market policies (ALMPs). The brief provides an overview of current barriers to obtaining decent work on an individual, structural, and macro-economic level and explains how the two proposed policies can be combined to overcome these hurdles. The conclusions in this brief are the result of a detailed research effort that included a conceptual framework, literature review, policy mapping and case studies. Detailed findings are available in the ILO's accompanying Synthesis Report.
