This resource provides statistics on the informal economy in order to help inform policy-making and support informal workers. The resource covers data from over 100 countries (>90% of global employed population aged 15 years+) to enable comparison across countries while also providing for disaggregation by sex, age, level of education, workplace (rural and urban), status in employment and other specific socio-economic characteristics. This common set of operational criteria also enables analysis of the relationship between informality and the level of social and economic development.
