The report introspects the current ecosystem of plastic recycling and recommends the urgent need for policy reforms to deal with the plastic waste crisis in India. This document reports that the amount of plastic waste generated in the country is uncertain. It also illustrates how plastic waste moves across the value chain and how its price increases as it undergoes several unit operations. From the findings, most of the plastic waste recycling in the country is done by the informal sector.
