Responsible Sourcing Initiative Annual Convening 2026

Hosted in Nairobi, Kenya, this closed-door event brought together over 100 stakeholders from across the recycling value chain, including representatives from brands, civil society, worker associations, recyclers, and investors.

The convening covered progress from Responsible Sourcing Initiative projects in four emerging markets, as well as perspectives and best practices on responsible sourcing. It also featured thematic discussions on the assurance of responsibly sourced plastics, unlocking finance for the waste sector, and the costs of responsible sourcing. Participants visited collection and processing sites within Mr. Green Africa’s recycling value chain, as well as Dandora Landfill, one of the largest landfills in Africa.
