This article highlights the initiatives by United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Global Environment Facility (GEF) as they aim to address the drivers of environmental degradation and advance systems transformation through integrated approaches. The UNEP-led initiatives include the Circular Solutions to Plastic Pollution Integrated Program, Congo Basin Integrated Program, Elimination of Hazardous Chemicals from Supply Chains Integrated Program, and Net-Zero Nature-Positive Accelerator Integrated Program. The programs aim to accelerate the transition towards a circular economy for plastics worldwide, conserve biodiversity and contribute to global climate stability, eliminate environmental degradation caused by global supply chains, and support countries to achieve their national net-zero targets.
